Pete Bullard has served on the Yale Board of Education since 2011.  Mr. Bullard has served the Yale Board of Education in varying capacities since taking office in 2011, namely Board Secretary, as well as, Board Vice President. Currently, Mr. Bullard has been elected to serve the Office of President of the Yale Board of Education. Mr. Bullard is a certified Board Member through the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) and has earned the distinctions of Award of Merit, Award of Distinction, Advocacy Skills Specialty and Master Board Member Award through MASB during his tenure.

Pete and his wife, Jennifer reside in Greenwood Township and have three boys, Alexander, Brayden and Easton. Pete has lived in the Yale area for most of his life and is a graduate of Yale High School (Class of 1993). Pete is very active in coaching little League baseball and basketball.

Mr. Bullard is a graduate of Oakland University with a degree in Elementary Education. He currently is employed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, FCA.

Veronica Monaco joined the Yale Board of Education when she was elected by the voters in 2012. She currently serves the seven-member Board as Vice President and has been very involved in the Michigan Association of School Boards Organization where she has earned the distinctions of Award of Merit, Award of Distinction and Master Board Member in her efforts of growth and development as a Board member.

Veronica and her husband, Randall, reside in Emmett Township with their son, Gage. Veronica has been very active in the community where she has served as PTO President and has played a significant role as an active member of the Yale Bologna Festival planning committee.

Veronica prides herself as a stay-at-home mom and strongly believes in the core family values that make our community so unique.




Ron Charney

Ron Charney was elected to the Yale Board of Education in 2006 and has provided stability and continuity for the Board. Ron has served as Treasurer to the Board for several years.

Ron and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Avoca and have raised three children, two of whom have graduated from Yale High School and were able to extend their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Their youngest is currently in high school. The Charney family have been life-long residents of the Yale area and Ron is a proud graduate of Yale High School (Class of ’84) Mr. Charney has been very active in the community as a coach for softball and basketball. Additionally, he is a long-standing and proud member of the St. Clair County Farm Museum.

Ron attended Ferris State University and is currently a Senior  Asset Manager with Extended Stay of America Hotels. His vocational background and experience has served the district well.

Mrs. French was elected in 2005 and currently is the most senior member of the Yale Board of Education. She has brought outstanding insight, perspective and background as a result of her years of experience as an elected official and one who is familiar in serving the community. Dena has served the Board in the capacity as Trustee and currently represents the Yale Board of Education as Secretary.

Dena resides in Greenwood Township with her husband, John, and their five children, two of whom have graduated from Yale Public Schools with honors, while the other three are currently continuing their educational experience within the district. Her family are all very active members of Trinity Missionary Church.

Mrs. French is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and is a counselor at Port Huron Northern High School. Her background in the educational field provides for insight and perspective in her role as a Board member.

Greg Hoppe is the newest elected Board member of Yale Public Schools. His term began January 1, 2017 and he has been off to a fast start where
he has quickly earned his Certificate of Completion for the New Board Member Orientation. Greg serves the Board as a Trustee. Greg resides in Greenwood Township with his wife, Heather and their four children, William, Patrick, Kalien and Jack, one who has graduated from Yale High School as a scholar-athlete, while the others continue their educational experience within Yale Public Schools. Greg has been very involved in coaching little league baseball and football. Additionally,Greg and his family are very active in their church, Sacred Heart. Mr. Hoppe is accustomed to serving his community as he has been employed by the City of Mt. Clemens Fire Department for over 22 years as a firefighter. His current status within the department is the title of Captain.

Mark Hurlburt was appointed to the Yale Board of Education in April 2019. He resides in Greenwood Township with his wife, Robin, and his two wonderful children, Christopher and Kaitlyn, both of whom currently attend Yale Public Schools. Mark and his wife have long demonstrated support for the students of Yale through the development of a non-profit organization called Together for Lunch which helps provide lunches to those in need. Additionally, Mark has been involved as a Youth Archery Coach for several years and helps coach and mentor over one-hundred kids each year.

Mark Hurlburt brings a strong background in informational technology to the Board.  He is a Central Michigan University graduate (Organizational  Administration) and also holds his M.B.A. awarded by Walsh College. He truly believes in being a lifelong learner.

Mark is excited to be part of the Yale Board of Education and is hopeful to continue the strong academic tradition that has been established.

Michael was appointed to the Board of Education in July 2019 in the   capacity of a Trustee. He is a lifelong resident of Avoca and a Yale High School graduate (2001). Michael is married to his lovely wife, Nicole, who is also a Yale Graduate, and they have four wonderful children: Zoey, Michael, Zachary and Everly. Mike brings with him a diverse background as he has extensive commercial construction experience and is currently employed by Clark Construction. In addition, he is the proprietor of Mike Johnson Farms which he established in 2008 where he grows corn,    soybeans and wheat. Being community-minded is certainly not new    territory as Mike and his wife have been very active throughout the    community. Additionally, Mike serves his community as a member of the Kenockee Township Fire Department.

He believes in the educational mission and is very supportive of the entire staff and appreciates the collective efforts that are made to provide     exceptional learning opportunities.
